Love.

I am the luckiest.

Inspiration to Reality

when I saw an old ladder used as a throw holder on Pinterest I knew I had to have one of my own and I set out to find one. I found a bunch online and they were way too pricey. Then I hit the jackpot with one of my favorite antique dealers..."Re-Funked Junk".

Here is the inspiration:

Here is the reality!:

Shot Through The Heart

I have no idea why I love these arrows from Verla Ivans so much. There is just something so interesting about them and they remind me of summer (not sure why!).

I love the different colors and think they would be awesome in my office. I am about to go through an office makeover and think these would be perfect!

Silence.

My name is Carolyn Jordan Clark, some people like to call me “little Carolyn”. As my cousins know…every chance I get I tell people my name. I was named after my grandmother.

It is my highest honor.

-----------------

I have been blog silent for almost a month...more actually. I hate being "blog silent". Life sometimes stops me from expressing. The last few weeks have been tough. I lost my grandmother and I moved to a new home (this is a good thing!).

My grandmother's death stopped me in my tracks. It has been such a loss. She was an incredible person. There aren't any words that I can say to express how much she meant to me.

Such a beautiful woman! How about that dress...I mean wow. Also, my handsome grandfather. Love his sideburns!

I think about her every single day. I miss her. I miss writing letters to her each week and calling her on Sundays. My life is different since she is gone. I feel a tremendous responsibility to carry on her legacy and represent her grace and goodness to the world. I am hoping to be a better person in 2012 for her.

If you're a bird...I'm a bird

My friend Anna from The Colorful Living Project always makes fun lists. Borrowing from that concept I am adding a list of busy-ness to my blog today. I feel neglectful and for that I am sorry. I hope to have more time and creativity in the coming weeks!

My best friend Jaime welcomed a beautiful little boy into the world in July! My husband and I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable child. Everyone knows I have a special place in my heart for Jaime's daughter Ella. But this little Cash has also stolen our heart.

What a great idea and how unique. You simply send a picture in and the artists make a necklace replica. So neat!!

The Civil Wars

Have you heard this song? Or heard of this band? I am obsessed. Their voices, their collaboration, their chemistry. The band is The Civil Wars and is the duo of Joy Williams and John Paul White. Pure magic.

A Blue Heron

Today my grandfather crossed my mind. I came across this note card by Deep Blue Sea Designs and thought it was so beautiful.

A very interesting occurrence has been happening since I moved back to North Carolina. I am living by a river and about once a month when I am driving (anywhere within 5 miles of my house) I have looked up to see a blue heron flying. Every single time this reminds me of my grandfather. He loved herons. In fact, at our lake house we often would look at these birds together and I once even drew him a picture of a heron that remains framed in the lake house today. My grandfather passed away nearly 12 years ago but I believe that his spirit is near when I see those herons fly over.
